July 2nd, 2008
Mr. Boyd and Sharon Cox were not aware of the fact that the table which they were buying was not just an old roulette table but an important piece of roulette gaming history which is talked about but the experts in the industry.
One of the 32 yrs old senior agents of Nevada Gaming Control Board Enforcement said that it is a “Holy Grail” of all of the gaming stuffs that are available, it is considered as an antique piece and in the term of gaming it is a gaffed roulette wheel. Whereas in normal terms this wheel is rigged in order to cheat in the game.
On June 15th 2008, in the University Of Nevada School Of Medicine several agents of gambling with Edward joined Boyd and Sharon where an X-Ray of this table’s machine was taken for understanding the overall structure and composition of the machine.
When this table was purchased by the Coxes by an antique collector in the year 2000 from Sonora they have placed it in the storage area till the time they realized its importance. They have shed 7500 USD for the roulette table they purchased with an additional charge for the restoration of the wheel of 1000 USD. It was the time when the restorer have called and told the two that he has hollowed the legs of the wheel and the cans of orange juice have been replaced by the same size of batteries inside the legs, they realized that it is a gaffed roulette wheel.
Evans Deluxe Roulette Wheel was created in Chicago or Detroit in the year 1920’s and it was sold for 250 USD whereas a normal wheel of roulette was sold for around 35 USD in this period.
This table had three buttons for a dealer, one button was for the player with an inside knowledge and one is for pit boss. The Coxes came to the conclusion of informing the Gaming Control Board about this Roulette Table.
