Springfield- The Supreme court of Illinois have taken out a law to enforce the casinos to part away some cash that gamblers bet on the games of roulette, craps and give it to the horse racing industry.
Since last two years the four casino of the state which are considered to be the richest ones were asked to give 3% of their revenue to the state to fund the racers and the horse tracks.
The circuit court on Will County discovered that all the casinos were taxed at different rates. But this case was lost at the Supreme Court and the unanimous vote reversed the decision. Tom Swoik, who was the casino and Gaming president at Illinois casino, said that it was a sad day for the business in the state of Illinois.
Swoik informed that the top 4 riverboats of the state of Illinois have already paid 80 million dollars towards racing industry in past 2 years. As the casinos sued on this issue, which actually kept the money in the state funds and this made it unavailable for the tracks. Also this law needs to be revised as it has expired and the people who are related to law industry urged to renew it as they will require it in future.
The casino owners are worried as due to some changes in the economy the casino industry’s revenue is also lost. Like the ban on smoking in Illinois has made the revenue of the casino industry decline.
