March 20th, 2009
From the highlight of the sports news, this pre-season Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell succeeded to become the first player to request against a tribunal judgment under the current system when he challenged his bumping suspension.
During the same session Collingwood midfielder, Tarkyn Lockyer commented that Chris Bryan is playing Russian roulette these days. In his own words: “To be honest, I can’t recall the incident, so I can’t really comment, The only thing I do know is if you bump these days, you’re playing Russian roulette, so hopefully we’re all right.”
At a striking event at grand finale of NAB Cup, Bryan is found to be involved with the match review panel for his contact with Geelong midfielder Joel Selwood.
In the meantime, Lockyer is hoping for the comeback of Rocca after a recovery from his leg injuries. However, AFL’s permission to include Rocca in the VFL for the remaining weeks is still pending. The entire team is hoping for a positive result, as Rocca is the valuable player for the team.
For the season opener on March 28 against Adelaide, Ruckman Josh Fraser and defender Heath Shaw are ready to play, as they missed the grand finale of NAB Cup.
